Basketball! Slowly it’s winding down. There are tournaments, last games, and whatnot. The JV girls fought gallantly, but lost to Peace with Christ on Tuesday. The JV girls also played in a tournament which you’ve probably already heard about, but they got 2nd place! The JV boys’ tournament is the weekend of the next, February 4th and 5th. The Varsity girls’ tournament is in about two weeks on February 10th and 11th. The Varsity boys had a tournament, but I am not knowledgeable about these things, so I don’t know if they got a placing or not. They do have another tournament, and I assume it’s the weekend after the Varsity girls’ tournament. I’m not completely sure if that’s right. If you’d really like to know, it’d probably be wise to ask MR. Poppe or a Varsity boy. NOT the Fleaing Demon Lemur Llama. A few more things: JV boys won and so did the Varsity girls!! Sadly, the Varsity boys didn’t, but I heard that they played very well and it was a close game! Last thing: PWC is playing Varsity Shepherd teams again on February 6th(special day!), which is next Monday! Thank you for reading this completely making sense article I’ll be back in two weeks!!!

She shoots she…, Last weekend was the JV girls tournament. They had way too many close games. They won Gethsemane but it was a very close game. They played Zion and they went into over over time and won by only 1 basket which equals 2 points. Then they played Peace with Christ and lost so they were in the loser’s bracket, and played St. Johns they won by only one point. So they went up to the winner’s bracket again. They would for sure get 2nd place J. Even if they lost the last game. Then they were at the end of the game when she shot it bounced of the basket and missed. They wouldn’t have won if they ball went in but they would have been closer to winning at least. So must of the players came of the court crying but they were good sports and kept their heads held high. They had doughnuts after and then they were mostly happy. Then they told Peace with Christ that they could have doughnuts and then everything got loud and fun. Shepherd and Peace were talking and eating when Coach Soderquist announced the winners of the yogurtland gift cards. Then everybody went home. So even though they didn’t win they did really good. Go Rams!
By: Kandy with a C We've had an exciting past week in our winter sports. Last week on Tuesday we played one of our toughest games with our rivals, St. John's. All four of our teams played well but in the end we lost sorely. JV girls and boys played very well considering that they were playing one of the toughest teams in the DALS league. The highlight of the JV girls game was that they started the game well. The highlight of the JV boys game was that they played against a very hard team. The Varsity girls and boys defended well. The highlight of the Varsity girls game is that they played against close friends that they knew formerly from Shepherd. Our best game was our Varsity boys game in which we lost by two points. Here are the scores for the evening: JV Girls - 16 to 6 points for Shepherd, JV Boys - 46 to 2 points for Shepherd, Varsity Girls - 21 to 2 points for Shepherd, and Varsity Boys - 31 to 29 points for Shepherd. It was an exciting evening even though we couldn't come home with a win. All teams were excited for the following game on Friday. It was canceled, though, and their hopes were dashed against the hard wood floor of their basketball lives, shattered like so many NBA backboards. See you at the next game.
