Hello and welcome back sports fans to the show. Well not really a show but it will do. For now. Anyway it is the last week of school and the last Wednesday and so there is no sports going on. There has not been sports for awhile though. So because there is no school year sports I will talk about summer sports. Like swimming that’s a fun summer sport you could go swimming in a pool or at the beach or in your bathtub but that is inside so that can be year around I guess. There is also hiking like who doesn’t like hiking. A lot of people. But that is not the point. You can go hiking in the mountains and outside really even in your back yard if you are too lazy to go anywhere. You could also go skiing wait that’s not right that is a winter sport sorry, not skiing. Instead you could go shuffle boarding which I have no idea what that is so I am not going to talk much about it. There is also if you are feeling really risky you could go……….. Sorry running out of words can’t tell you what I was going to say or type so bye.

The last track meet just happened a few weeks ago, and our track team did amazing! The Shepherd girls got first place, and the boys (with only five people) got second. All the track team participants seemed to have a lot of fun, and they enjoyed their party last night.
Field Day also occurred just a short while ago, and everyone enjoyed it immensely except Paschal, who found it uninteresting. Mr. Bradley and Mr. Poppe ran the football throw, and we are sure that that ended horrifically! It was also brutally hot, and several sunburns have been reported, including one on top of someone’s head! (Can’t really put sunscreen there!) Shepherd was represented well in all events, the most notorious being shot-put, cross country, and the dashes. No injuries were sustained, although several people learned that it is not a good idea to eat a snow cone right before you race! But now all the sports are over, and the school year is winding down. Shepherd had a great athletic year, and all the sports teams excelled! Volleyball did very well, especially with all their new players. Soccer got third in the league tournament, and all the basketball teams had great records. The track team was also amazing, as you learned earlier. We hope everyone plays again next year, and maybe we’ll even have some newbies to the sports teams! But as for now, great job to the teams and keep playing! Have a great summer! The Last Article By: The Reading Random Roaring Raging Raiding Radiant Radical Rambunctious Zebra!!! Also known as – BEKAH HOEHNE Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a large, noisy, and slightly obnoxious gathering of middle school students and their teachers? Well yes, it is- but its true identity is… FIELD DAY!
Yes, it’s true- Field Day is coming up! This Friday, on May 12, 2017, middle school students from all over the Denver Area Lutheran Schools district will flock to Lutheran High School Parker to run races, jump long jumps, and throw balls, to name a few of the events that will occur. Events will begin at 9:45 sharp with the football throw, run by our very own Mr. Poppe, and will end with the School Relay at about 2:10. The School Relay is a relay with one participant from each grade kindergarten and up. The relay begins with a kindergartener running to the end of the football field with a baton. The baton is then carried back to the other side by a first grader, and from then until the eighth grader finishes it off. There were many races to decide who would be representing each class. Congratulations to the winners, and good luck everyone! Competitors aren’t the only people who can come to Lutheran High for this fun day, though- Field Day is open to the general public! Lunch tickets can be purchased at Field Day if you don’t want to bring a picnic lunch, and it’s always fun to cheer on our athletes. Remember, this Friday, May 12 is Field Day! Be sure to drop by for some food, fellowship and lots of fun! By A. Nonny Mous |
