Hello miniature bumblebees of Shepherd of the Hills! On Monday February 22, 2016, the Shepherd of the Hills Spelling Bee took place. Fifth through eighth grade took part in the Spelling Bee. Although, fifth-sixth grade had their own and seventh-eighth grade had their own. This year, lots of people got out during the first round in both grade groups. Nathan Wohletz was part of the people who got out during the first round. He said, “I wish I didn’t add an extra ‘L’.” Some people made it past the first round like Peter Schallenmuller. He said, “I think it was a fun experience to be a part of. However at the same time it was a little unfair because some people got hard words and others got easy words.” Well spoken. Although it’s supposed to be fair, some people do get easy words while others get hard words. It’s very similar to the episode of the TV show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. Moze and Cookie would get the really hard words and choke, but Ned would get very easy words including “dog” and “cat”
The victors of the fifth and sixth grade Bee was Erin Kaelin and Reilly Saline (but actually Reilly Saline) and the victors from seventh and eighth grade are Lara Seitz and Joey Rasmussen. The Spelling Bee for the seventh and eighth graders was a hard fought battle between Joey and Lara. It went into about five extra rounds and Joey prevailed. All of the winners from each age group will go to St. John’s on March 1, 2016. Thanks for listening to my words. Have a stunning day! - The Electric Snowman
