Hello secret pandas of Shepherd of the Hills! In November, the eighth grade class took part in writing an essay about what freedom means to them. Those essays were then sent to SERTOMA (Service To Mankind) to be judged for a winner. After somebody from Shepherd wins, they receive one hundred dollars and a trip to a luncheon where they could then win the district and win three hundred dollars. Jenna Brewer was the winner from Shepherd of the Hills this year. She not only won out of everyone from the school, she also went on and won the Front Range District! Congratulations Jenna! She was so very excited that when they called her name to receive the award, her chair fell over. Luckily she caught the chair before it hit the ground. When asked about how she felt when she won the award, Jenna said, “I don’t know…It was cool.” She sounded very excited. When Mr. Bradley was asked about how he felt when Jenna won the award, he said, “I was very proud of Jenna.” With Jenna winning the Front Range District, this the second time someone from Shepherd of the Hills has won. The first winner from Shepherd was Joseph Casey in 2005. Have a stellar day!

Hello undercover bananas of Shepherd of the Hills! As you probably know the talent show happened on Friday January 29, 2016. Many people took part in the show. Cameron said, “The fourth grade class is doing the Star Wars song with boomwhackers.” That was very fun and entertaining! The Schulteis family did a band type of thing to patriotic songs. Thomas was on the piano, Julia was on the flute, and Andrew was on the drums. That was a great showcase of talents.
As always there are two emcees for the talent show. Since our two Hall of Fame emcees – Sawyer Benson and Mark Suter – have left, we had to get Joey Rasmussen and Jenna Brewer to take their place. Mr. Bradley said, “I loved to see them do that. They are both very talented individuals.” Nathan Wohletz said, “Joey isn’t even going to be there!” He was very misinformed. Although, there was a boys Varsity basketball tournament at Zion in Brighton the night of the talent show so Jenna had to do it by herself. She took on Joey’s role by putting a bandana on her head and changing her voice. The talent show is always a great showcase of talents. If you’re looking for some quality entertainment next year, stop by Shepherd of the Hills for the annual talent show. Have a day that is very up to snuff! - The Electronic Snowman |
