It’s true- Mrs. Cannon is having another baby! We were informed (yes, even dead bodies can be informed) of this awesome event on Wednesday, September 21, by a crossword puzzle! Mrs. Cannon cleverly concealed clues to her coming child’s existence in a confusing crossword conundrum (that alliteration, though) leaving us to find the words listed beneath the puzzle and cross them out. The remaining letters spelled out the message!
All of us were very excited- so excited, in fact, that it took ssome doing to get us calmed down for chapel. Eventually it was managed and off we went, still talking excitedly. Now it’s a week later and we STILL can’t believe it! Mrs. Cannon has assured us that it is true. She also told Clark, who didn’t seem to care very much that he was soon to have a brother or sister. A brother or sister? Which one? Well, we won’t know until Mrs. Cannon has her baby because, as she told us last Wednesday, SHE LIKES SURPRISES! This is unfortunate for all us people who like to know in advance, but whatever boats your float (yes, I can English properly if I try). Regardless of whether Clark is going to get a brother or a sister, we are all very excited for Mrs. Cannon and can’t wait to meet the baby. By: The Person Who Died of Boredom at the DMV

What exactly is Flashlight Friday anyway? Flashlight Friday is a special day when you get to take a comfort item to school. Whether that is a stuffed animal, a blanket or a pillow, you are invited to bring one or two items that give you comfort. Thanks to Mrs. Cannon, these special Friday's are now in existence! During Mrs. Cannon's class, you can read a book of your choice and bring a flashlight. Flashlight Friday only happens every other Friday, so make sure you remember these special days! All middle school gets to participate in Flashlight Fridays if they bring the necessary items. Reading books opens new worlds for students, allowing a break in busy schedules. Students with terribly busy schedules barely get any time to relax, but Flashlight Fridays gives that relaxing time. Students don't have to worry about any of life's problems, homework, or anything when they read books. It's good for your health to take a break every once and awhile from busy life. Students don't usually get a break from all the busy things they do such as sports, piano, chores, and school. Thank you Mrs. Cannon for inventing flashlight Friday and giving us a break from everyday life!
By: The Electric Neon Glowing Cinnamon Fish Stick Unless your smelling is impaired, you have probably realized that the computer lab smells like rotten fish. (Sorry, Julia) I can’t stand going in there, not just because the computers hate me, which is the case, but because it reminds me that I haven’t showered for a month!
There are many theories about why it smells sooooooooooooo bad, but my theory is that Mr. Bradley puts something rotten in there each week just so he can delight in watching us moan and groan. Another popular idea, especially among the girls, is that the vents in the computer lab are connected to the vents in the boys’ bathroom! I wouldn’t put it past one of them to somehow connect it. I’m sure they would be pros at that, as Mr. Bradley has been teaching them. Maybe someday we’ll be able to worm the secret out of Mr. Bradley, but as for now, the computer lab continues to smell, we continue to groan, Mr. Bradley continues to laugh, and somehow, middle school life at Shepherd goes on! The Duchess of Deadly Hiccups in the Hall There is no room to get our stuff! What do you think about the locker spacing do you think that we don't have enough room and that it is hard to get to the lockers and get to class on time because you have to take turns or someone bumps you and everything falls out of your arms making it impossible to pick up because we are so far crowded in well this is what I think. I wish I could have some room so I wouldn't have to wait my turn as the other kids get there stuff. We have extra lockers and we could do every other one. Having locker spacing could also be bad because then we could use to much room or we don't have enough for every other so then we have to make some of them right next to each other and that is not fair. But all in all I think that having a little to much room is better than having no room, and being late because you have to wait your turn because you can't get to your locker unlock it get everything out and lock it again because you have 30seconds to do it. So what do you think is right do you like having it all tight or would you like some room. By: Kandy with a K |
