Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a large, noisy, and slightly obnoxious gathering of middle school students and their teachers? Well yes, it is- but its true identity is… FIELD DAY!
Yes, it’s true- Field Day is coming up! This Friday, on May 12, 2017, middle school students from all over the Denver Area Lutheran Schools district will flock to Lutheran High School Parker to run races, jump long jumps, and throw balls, to name a few of the events that will occur. Events will begin at 9:45 sharp with the football throw, run by our very own Mr. Poppe, and will end with the School Relay at about 2:10. The School Relay is a relay with one participant from each grade kindergarten and up. The relay begins with a kindergartener running to the end of the football field with a baton. The baton is then carried back to the other side by a first grader, and from then until the eighth grader finishes it off. There were many races to decide who would be representing each class. Congratulations to the winners, and good luck everyone! Competitors aren’t the only people who can come to Lutheran High for this fun day, though- Field Day is open to the general public! Lunch tickets can be purchased at Field Day if you don’t want to bring a picnic lunch, and it’s always fun to cheer on our athletes. Remember, this Friday, May 12 is Field Day! Be sure to drop by for some food, fellowship and lots of fun! By A. Nonny Mous
