So, what do you think about Cheer? Is it a sport? Is it not a sport? Are you afraid of pom-poms (I am talking to you Person Who Died of Boredom in the DMV)?
One cheerleader, who wishes to remain anonymous said "It really frustrates me when I tell people I'm a cheerleader and they say something like: Oh... you're a cheerleader? Really? You? No offense or anything but... I don't like cheerleaders that much. They are annoying. I enjoy cheer and that's why I do it. (Suprise!) I do sometimes take offense though when you say cheer annoys you. I really could care less about football and baseball but I don't go around telling people who enjoy those sports that I don't like it when they play football or talk about baseball. I just understand that we are two different people with different likes and dislikes. I'm not trying to offend anyone who says things about Cheer or other sports, but I try to stay positive as a Cheerleader and a person and insulting other people based on the sport you play is wrong." I personally think that it is unfair to be mean about other people's hobbies, but at the same time I think people should be allowed to voice their opinions. I just think they need to do it in a kind way. Earlier this week I saw an argument between two people about Cheer. One boy insisted it wasn't a sport while one girl insisted it was. Those of you who don't count it as a sport, I want to know why. Think about your reasoning and leave a comment (please comment😄) and those of you who do count it as a sport share your opinions as well! Just remember volleyball, soccer, tennis, football, baseball, and non-athletic childrens: cheerleaders don't question your right to enjoy your game or hobbies, do let's not make their's up for debate.
