Have you ever wondered what the globes are thinking and what they might be doing and saying? Well, I have decided to try and figure it out with the help of Kyra, who is so kind as to translate what the globes are saying. The first question was, do you like the students? He doesn't like staring at the students all day. He says that they sometimes can be scary and he hates that he can't move without help, but he doesn't like being touched by the students. What's your favorite color? Globo says that his favorite color is white because it's cool. Globo wanted to talk about his hair so I told him that we would like to know what he thinks about his hair. He said that he was very disappointed when his parents said that he can't get a red and blue Mohawk because it is inappropriate for a classroom. I also interviewed Globling who is not part of the globe family but a transfer student from China. My first question was, How was China? It was cool but not like the weather- it was awesome. Do you like America? Yes but he doesn't like that he isn't with his family and he wishes that he could see them every day again. Do you like the education? Yes, but the desks weren't what he thought they would be- he expected a desk and a chair, not a rubber doughnut. Globo and Globling are two of the four best globes and I hope you enjoyed knowing a little bit more about the Globes.

I recently sat down with Mrs. Poppe, one of our second grade teachers. Some of you may not know she lived in O'ahu, Hawaii, so of course I had to ask if she could speak Hawaiian to which she responded only about twenty words. For someone who grew up near the ocean, I was surprised to find how much she enjoys the mountains. I asked her how she decided to be a teacher and she said that her mother was a teacher and was inspired to teach by her creativity. Being a teacher gives her opportunity to spend time with kids, which she enjoys. But teaching isn't all fun, she says she doesn't like having to discipline students. She is married to our PE, Religion, and Algebra teacher Mr. Poppe and has an adorable little son named Zadoch.
Fun Facts: Her favorite food is salad, color is teal, animal is elephant, season is summer, movie is The Princess Bride, and books (because you can never have too many favorite books) are Weathering Heights and Ella Enchanted. Thank you for letting me interview you for agreeing to be featured in the first article in the All About Our Educators column. And for all of you student readers: I challenge you to comment what teacher you want to see featured next. by Princess Peaches Pygmy Puff Hello secret circles of Shepherd of the Hills! The Electronic Snowman has completed an interview with Mrs. Cannon, the first grade teacher. She said that she enjoys teaching because it is amazing and everyday something new happens. Mrs. Cannon knew she wanted to be a teacher because when she was a little girl, she would teach things to her stuffed animal students. As you may or may not know, Mrs. Cannon is moving down to the middle school next year to teach English. She said that she is very excited for the change. Even though she thinks little kids are fun, she likes bigger kids too. The age group of students she likes to work with is below high school. She says that high school students scare her because they can be bigger and taller than her. Her favorite food is any Mexican food but mostly burritos. Mrs. Cannon grew up in Texas so there was a lot of Mexican food around. She also said that her favorite movie is A League of Their Own, because there is no crying in baseball!
The Electronic Snowman is sad to inform you that this is my final interview. It has been a long ride and I hope we can still be friends. Anyways, have a groovy day. - The Electronic Snowman Hello secret monkeys of Shepherd of the Hills! Recently I asked Mr. McPeak if I could interview him for this newsletter. Of course, he said no for the umpteenth time. So, I interview our favorite person who gives us tardy slips when we are late….Mrs. McCrary! The first question I asked her was what her favorite part of being at Shepherd of the Hills is. Her response was she really likes interacting with all the kids or else she would not have this job. Since she signs in all of the tardy people, you would think she had some good stories of why people are late. Surprisingly she does not have any great stories. The best one she has is that a kid would come in everyday saying that he missed the public bus, when he was waking up thirty minutes late. She also said that her favorite food is any kind of dessert. When asked what she did before she came to Shepherd of the Hills, she said that she was a psychotherapist who helped out with at risk inner city youth. Mrs. McCrary said that she liked working with that age group because even though they were doing bad things, they still had hope. She also worked at the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Since she has a rhyming name (Terry McCrary) it made sense to ask her what it is like to have a name like that. She said that you need to have a good sense of humor. She also said that her favorite type of animal is a dachshund. Thanks for reading and have a stupendous day!
-The Electronic Snowman Hello Easter Bunnies of Shepherd of the Hills! That is right; the Electronic Snowman is now the author of the teacher interview page. If you prefer the writing of the Chunky Chimichanga, you can look at previous articles or go over to the editorial or the human interests page. Anyways, let us dive into the interview.
I asked Pastor Zillinger what his favorite part about being a pastor was. His response was that he gets to be in God’s Word all the time and he gets to connect it to the people he is around. He said that he has always enjoyed a good steak, but as of now he enjoys good sushi. When asked what it is like to be a leader at a Christian school, he said that leadership always has difficulties, especially when you don’t know the people you are dealing with. Although, when you are at a Christian school, you are all brothers and sisters in Christ, but it is hard to talk to people about some subjects when you know them. He also explained why he became a pastor. He said that he never really wanted to be a pastor but people around him noticed that he had a gift of explaining Scripture, so then he knew what he was called to do. I also asked him some fun questions. For instance, I asked him what his choice of weapon would be if he was in a zombie apocalypse. He said he would use a sawed off double barrel shotgun. He also said that if he could be a Star Wars character he would be older Obi Wan Kenobi. He also said that he would ride a shark strapped to an elephant into a battle which would trample everything in its path. Have a splendid day! -The Electronic Snowman Mrs. Jennings Clark is our school principal. This is her first year being a principal. She gave pretty straight forward answers so The Chunky Chimichanga will have to find a way to make this as long as he can mostly by making sentences like this.
Let us get started. Her favorite aspect of Shepherd of the Hills is the community. The subject of reading is her favorite subject because it is like being transported to another world. If should could teach a subject she would choose English, because you guessed it, reading! Her favorite food is Mexican mostly because of the spice. (Note: As The Chunky Chimichanga interviews these teachers who like Mexican food The Chunky Chimichanga might have to hire tamale henchmen in order to keep from being eaten. Another option would be to start a underground resistance of all Mexican food to try and persuade these teachers to eat Chinese food more often and get them to stop eating Mexican food. Eat more eggrolls!) While The Chunky Chimichanga was interviewing Mrs. Jennings Clark, The Chunky Chimichanga sat on a swinging benched and asked why do you have a swing bench in your office? She said, “Because it calms kids down.” - The Chunky Chimichanga Mrs. Monson our school librarian has been at this school for twenty-eight years. Before she worked here she was a stay at home mom. She loves books and reading. She can’t remember not reading or learning to read. As a kid she loved reading as much as she does now. Kids now while walking home are texting or doing something on their phone. Mrs. Monson as a kid however, would be walking home while reading a book. She became a librarian at Shepherd of the Hills Christian School specifically to instill the love of Jesus Christ our Lord. Throughout her many years of working at Shepherd of the Hills her favorite thing is watching kids get excited about reading, especially when new readers are learning to read. She said it is like watching a new world open up to the child. As technology grows in the modern world, kids read on their tablets or on some kind of electronic device. The Chunky Chimichanga asked Mrs. Monson what her feelings are on this new way of reading. Her answer was that, “Technology certainly has its place but it is not the same feeling as opening up a physical book and reading”. Her favorite food is Mexican food. The Chunky Chimichanga would not like to be eaten.
-The Chunky Chimichanga Our P. E. and religion teacher Mr. Poppe has just been interrogated but more like interviewed. Mr. Poppe has been teaching here since 2013. He coaches JV boys Basketball, and over the last couple years has coached soccer and helped with track, however with he birth of his son, he let Mr. Bradley coach soccer and was not able to help with track last year.
Mr. Poppe loved sports growing up especially basketball. His coach in second grade taught him to love the sport. His reason that basketball is his favorite is the fast paced and dimensional play where players play both offense and defense. This quick transitional pace excited Mr. Poppe. While Basketball is and has been his favorite sport he played football, ran track, played soccer, and ultimate Frisbee in high school. In grade school he also played softball. In collage he had to choose to become a history or P.E. teacher, choosing P.E. His favorite food is as he put it, “If I were to die tomorrow I would eat a medium rare fillet mignon”. He also like gaming such as Magic the Gathering. If he had to choose between gaming and sports it would be like “Choosing between pizza and hamburgers” basically depending on the day. In a zombie apocalypse with the choice of a shotgun, bat, or chainsaw he would choose between the shotgun and a bat depending on how much ammo the shotgun has. - The Chunky Chimichanga We just have adventured to the Shoaf territory. We need to ask a village some questions to survive here. Our first question is what is your favorite type of chocolate it was any type of chocolate. Second question is do you like kangaroo or a wombat better? She (Mrs. Shoaf) said kangaroo. Third question is how is your day? Mrs. Shoaf said fantastic!
